Addition-crosslinking silicones combine with the crosslinker without a cleavage product being produced. These silicones can thus also be processed in closed moulds. The curing time can be shortened by increasing the temperature. These systems, however, are relatively sensitive to inhibition of the crosslinking, also called poisoning. The products made from addition-crosslinking silicones are generally non-toxic. Altropol has marked these systems with an even initial number, the crosslinkers with the letter A.
